About Us....
We are a father and son racing team based out of Northern California. Myself- John Mofidi, is the main driver of the RACECO-USA built #523. By profession, I'm a Rapid Response Registered Nurse (RRT-RN) at a top tier Level one Trauma Center in the greater Northern California area, the University of California at Davis Medical Center. I also moonlight at NorCal Ambulance holding the position of a Critical Care Transport Registered Nurse (CCT-RN). Both positions can be very physically and mentally draining (Hey, that's racing too isn't it??!!) depending on the situation. My hobbies include long distance running, HIIT training to keep my mind and body in shape, spending time with my younger daughter Madisyn (6 years old), my wife Carolyn, parents/in-laws and working on my cars.
Alongside is my 21 year old son-Nick. He has always wanted to get into racing, and well...here it is! By profession Nick is a full time mechanic at one of the largest automotive dealers in the Northern California region-AutoNation. He has a few years experience under his belt with working on cars and especially the Class 5U motor (Ecotec), and various other specifics of the car which helps tremendously on the time and money. Nick is the navigator at this point and a very good one at that, but will ultimately move up to driving in time. Nick is also a very active in CrossFit and spending time with friends and family.
My racing history is limited, but that didn't stop me from picking up from where I left off! Growing up in the Southern California deserts-Palm Springs to be exact. The open desert was at my disposal and I have always had a passion for it and ripping through it, but never had the funds to act on the "Racing portion" or more serious part until the past 5 years or so. Back in my younger years I raced BMX bikes in Desert Hot Springs, or ripped through the desert on my Suzuki RM 250 (which I bought without my parents blessing-lol). I also had the chance of ripping on other dirt bikes, quads, 3 wheelers and my fathers Toyota truck, all through my childhood.
Following my childhood was my USN career, and all the time spent getting through my education. Now, its our time to act on the off-roading/racing passion and share that with my Son-Nick and ultimately my daughter-Madisyn.
Our plan is to race at various sanctions from Nevada to Mexico as often as our schedule permits. To provide some insight on the future...the next Baja 1000 peninsula run is on our radar, amongst various other races. STAY TUNED, and thank you for visiting!!
VIVA LA BAJA!!
